The celebration features 150 cooking teams from all over Texas and the United States to barbecue goat! Once, a team from England crossed "the pond" to participate!

This annual event also features and arts and crafts fair, kids games, horseshoe and washer pitching tournaments, and live musical entertainment for guests to enjoy.

Saturday afternoon, judges name the top ten winning entries who are awarded trophies and bragging rights. The top five teams also receive a cash prize with their hardware!

Other categories include the Super Bowl for past winners, Best Rig, Showmanship and Mystery Meat, which truly is mystery each year! The arts and crafts booth with the best design is also awarded a plaque, and trophies are awarded to the games tournament winners.
